Case studies

  • A Normandale water garden
Jon was asked to come up with a concept and planting plan for Dean & Barbara Winyard in Normandale. They had made a start to develop their garden, but were stuck on what to do with the back part of the section, and had differing points of view.
  • And in this video we see a similar situation in Tawa which was similarly resolved with raised garden and planting native climbers on ponga logs in the bank. We also used rock anchors and mesh at one end where the bank had fallen away to hold it. We finished the job off with some paving and lime sand to create usable spaces.

"Jon combined our ideas into a very attractive area capturing our requirement for colour, shape and ease of maintance. The waterfall feature we wanted as the centre piece has worked very well for positioning and relaxing sounds. Once the young plants mature the area will look even more attractive. Thank you Jon for your expert advice." Dean & Barbara Winyard

It was a great relief that all of the people that have been here under the direction of Jon have been not only excellent in their work but extremely professional in their work and have certainly left us more than happy to recommend any of them to anyone. We would also thoroughly recommend Jon’s expertise. He can visualise things extremely well and his ideas are great. He thought of ideas that were far beyond our expectations. We are very happy customers.” Brian & Robyn Anderson

"Jon, I just wanted to make sure it is acknowledged that we love the design and work on the landscaping at our place. It looks really good. I can hardly wait to see it in Spring and watch it develop over the next few years.  We really appreciate the craft that was applied by your team, especially Scott and Alistair. The attention to detail is evident. I'm in awe of the weather conditions they had to ensure the last few weeks. I think you got the best guys, and they are good guys too.  Dealing with yourself has been a pleasure, thanks again for your leadership and patience with this. "
